our weekend... mostly in pictures

Friday night was a lot of fun...
I showed up late, after hanging out at mom's and getting the kids bathed and ready for bed.
We watched Charlie Robison and then chatted with friends until midnight.

***
We stayed the night with mom and the next morning Maddox was on a fire truck throwing candy by 9:00... I left my camera at my mom's and Lance caught a few on his phone, but he's not here.
My favorite thing was when Maddox spotted me in the crowd-- the smile on his face and the way he was waving at me 100 miles per hour-- melted me!

I wasn't the best at getting pictures at the concert each night, either, so I stole a few of these (with permission of course) for the blog, and have a few from my own phone as well.

I wasn't planning on going back on Saturday night, because I didn't want to leave my kids again...
But really I didn't leave until 9:00 the night before, both kids woke up when we got in and then we were up and at the parade by 9:00am.  We played on bounce houses and looked at antique cars until 1:00, ate lunch and then me and the boys went home for a nap.
(While Lance kicked butt in a washer tournament--  many years of practice paid off.  Or at least won him his buy-in back... his team {and partner he had never even met} took 3rd.)

Lance's sister called and asked if she could see the boys, so I took her up on it and took them out to her around 8:00.
Back to the concert, we got to hang out with some of best friends again, and had a great time.

The fire department raised some money,  which was the goal anyway, but Lance and I agreed-- we are both home bodies.
We missed our babies... and being snuggled up on the couch with blankets and pjs, trumps a double dose of live music any day.

But it was still a nice change of pace.

We picked up the boys by 9:00 this morning and Lance had to head home and get ready to go to work but me and the boys went back to my mom's.
I have a ton of fun pictures from our day from my phone...
So I'll share.
I.  Can.  Not.  Wait. to build our pinterest-inspired-for-the-poor-folk house and move back to the country, on our triangle piece of land that's waiting on us...
Maddox feels so important when he is helping Pop...
and his tiny feet can take him as far as they will peddle and his biggest threat is more land.

He told me and mom today, while riding around, that all he needs in life "is some wide open space with a park and a golf course."  And honestly, is that not too much to ask?!  ;)
The weather was perfect today...
and the roast and peach cobbler wasn't too shabby either!

You can log off now if there's too many for you... but they're fun, so I'll share our day at mom's!  (via the iphone)

  1. Oh... and I *must* share mom's new peach cobbler recipe from her friend, Joyce.
It was soooo good... and terribly easy!
Drain a 29oz can of peaches and pour in the bottom of your dish.
Decrust and slice 5 pieces of white bread into strips and lay atop the fruit.
Mix together 1 1/2 cups of sugar, 2TBSP of flour, one stick of melted butter and one egg, beaten. Pour that mixture onto the bread and sprinkle with cinnamon.
    Bake 40 minutes at 350*.

    To. Die. For.

  2. Looks like an awesome weekend to me! I love how you edit your pictures. You are moving again? Back to the farm house? Sorry, I just was a little confused!

    1. no... not for a few years. We are buying some of the land that went with the farm house, near my parents. The market is still very crappy here (our house has dropped 30K in value over the last 3 years or so) so we are going to have to try and give the market time to adjust before we sell and build. We would love to be back there before Maddox starts kindergarten, but that's probably a stretch.

  4. How fun! Love all the pictures. I love Charlie Robison. You look beautiful. I wish I had as much energy as you do!

Your mom's place is so great, so beautiful. What a fun place for you guys to go, relax and have fun. I have to admit, I am not a horse person at all, but that one picture is so neat of the horse. Horses scare me.

    That last picture is PRECIOUS!

    1. Yes... these were all from my Iphone (or stolen and re-edited with my iphone) There are lots of apps that have a similar effect, but I believe I used phototreats on that one.
