In case you didn't know...

  • I love snow-icecream scone-cones with extra cream on top.  But probably haven't had one in 2 years.  I am so ready for the stands to open up-- I am craving one in a big way!
  • As ready as I sometimes get to meet our new addition, I already mourn the loss of my pregnant belly. I love being pregnant.
  • I love for my closet to be organized according to sleeve length, and color within that category.  All on white plastic hangers.  Thank you Nana. :)  ...so these tiny farm house closets that we have to work with *kind of* rock my world!  I am far from organized here.
  • I listen to the words of every song, and it drives me crazy when my husband doesn't know what a song is about...
  • I have to be able to see my food when I eat it.  Lance use to kid me that he was going to buy me a head lamp to eat with... but now I think may have rubbed off on him, I catch him upping the lighting in the room all of the time when he is about to chow down!
  • I dread the teenage years.  I know I was mean... and I still have insecurities of my teenage years brought on by "friends".  I don't want my kids to go through that.  But I know it is part of life.
  • I hate to be asked what my favorite color is.  I like all colors.  It makes me a little overwhelmed to narrow it down to one.
  • I got a phone call from my best friend from high school a week or so ago.  Our lives went very different paths, and we had a bit of a falling out-- but I think about her a lot and was so happy to hear from her.  Though we are still living very different lives, I can not wait until we can meet up and chat.
  • I would love to be a surrogate one day... but I doubt my husband will ever get on board
  • I love bright flowers.  I wish Lance would understand the concept that a bright, beautiful $5 Albertson's bouquet of mixed, random, bright flowers would bring just as much joy to my heart as some from a florist.  Actually more, because they are cheap!  I never get flowers.
  • I would love to be a foster parent... but I know I'm not strong enough for that.  I have seen some horrible stories lately... heart wrenching.
  • I love the colors sky blue and red together.  Also school-bus yellow and turquoise.
  • I love artsy- fartsy, fun and fantastic, whimsical photography.  Like this chick's here.  If I'm honest, however, I don't actually read her blog. but I do stop by from time to time to gawk at her artistic eye.  It is amazing!
  • I think its okay that I curse and pray.  Not necessarily at the same time.
  • I have some amazing friends.  True.  Good.  People.  I think about them a lot, pray for them randomly and am thankful for them always.
  • I think I get better with age.  I do not think I am beautiful, by any means-- but I feel prettier the older I get.
  • I worry about other people's feelings way too much.
  • I can make friends with a brick wall.  I talk to anyone and everyone.  I think it may be an annoying trait of mine.
  • I have buyers-remorse over every purchase I make.  (including groceries)
  • I would never/ have never stiffed a waiter.  No matter how horrible they are.  I have had bad days at work too, and I still hope to get my paycheck for those days too!
  • I am not a milk drinker... however I have thought about investing in a dairy cow during this pregnancy.  I can't get enough of it these days!
  • Sometimes I think about things that weren't even necessarily my fault, but hate the way I reacted to it.
  • I have been called a "hippy" twice just recently.  I took it as a compliment.  (whether it was intended that way or not?!)  I like that I beat to my own drum.
  • Almost every song I hear brings a memory or person to mind.
  • I love my job.
  • I will have more babies.  And unless you raise them, or pay for them in any way-- you don't get an opinion on this one.  (Looks like Lance is the only one who gets to speak here!) ;)
  • I love music.  But can't sing or play any instrument at all.
  • I am not much of a chocolate eater.  I will pick sour-type candy over chocolate any day... however,  I'll pick some whole-hearted-home cooking over sweets any day too.
  • I never watch the news.  Therefor I am always completely out of the loop.  I like it that way.
  • I turn 27 in 2 weeks,  and Lance turns 30 in just over 3 weeks.  For years, I have wanted to throw him a big to-do for his 30th, planned a big event within my head, I know the details, I tell you... and then Beckham changed things.  I have a feeling this birthday may end up being his least-celebrated yet.
  • It never fails that I get behind a health nut at the grocery store check out line... it always makes me feel a few things.  1. that I need to make more healthier meals for my family.  2.  that I hope she doesn't look in my buggy 3. that I should put the fresh, healthier stuff on the conveyor belt first!
  • After reading on a few blogs about the book, Water for Elephants... I bought it.  Hope I can finish it before Beckham arrives.
  • I love to dance.  Love it.  (although I would need a breather about 1/2 way through a song right now!)
  • I wish I could make a living from planning birthday parties... and wish I had a bigger budget when doing Maddox's.  (although I am super happy with how both of his turned out thus far, on the budget I had)  Thanks to my friend, Kristen, for sharing this blog, I am officially an addict.
  • I wish I liked fish.  I want to broaden my pallet, but I am too cheap to go buy a $15 plate at a restaurant that I may or may not like... and I wouldn't dare make it at home.
  • I really want a stamped necklace from Cori Green for my babies.... [hint to my husband!!]
  • I wish I were a coupon-er.  I am impressed with these women who get $200 worth of groceries for $40... but dang, that's a lot of work-- and I honestly don't know where to begin.
  • I would love to get my lactation certification... I think it would be awesome to be a lactation nurse.
  • I have craved a Joe T. Garcia's margarita this entire pregnancy... and I am not a drinker.  My mouth waters at the thought!
  • I wish there were no such things as HIPPA laws so I could share some of the calls I get after hours... I guarantee some would drop you jaw.
  • I could never be a CPS worker.  The pay is horrible and the stress level is off the chart.  Why are people mean to babies?  God bless those people who take on such a career.
  • I LOVE bargains.  I rarely every pay full price for clothes.  I get a rush from the deal!
  • Maddox gets funnier and funnier every day.  I really should start a blog full of just his random thoughts, expressions, and one liners. ::Recently when I was complaining about my hips and legs hurting, he said it sounded like a "case of leg-itis" to him.  This morning when "talking" to Lance on his pretend phone, I heard him say, "your job is to get mommy out of the house, my job is to make her a fancy meal.  If I can get Beckham out of mommy's tummy-- he can be in charge of the eggs!"
  • I have somehow slipped through another pregnancy without a stretch mark... (if one pops up in the next 2 weeks I will eat these words!)
  • I dream about the next date night I can have with my husband... maybe dinner on a patio and a concert.  It'll be a while, but it never hurts to dream.
  • Lance is eligible for 12 weeks of paid paternity leave!!  (well he has enough comp-time to cover it, therefor it will be paid) but 12 weeks!!  Isn't that nuts?!  He is planning on taking 3 or 4.
  • I love rainy days with no agenda.  Blinds open, blanket in my lap, book in my hand.
  • I hate doing laundry.  It is my absolute least favorite chore.  My front-loading washer/ dryer made it a bit more fun for about a minute.  I am over it again.
  • I always explain to Maddox why he is in trouble and I try and apologize to him when I am out of line, because I think he is a lot like me.  "Because I said so" was never enough for me either and I think its good for him to realize that Lance and I make mistakes too.
  • I believe in miracles.
  • It is almost summer!!  ...And I live 5 minutes from my SIL and her 2 kids.  I see lots of days in Pam's pool, splashing in the sprinkler, zoo and other fun ahead for us!  ...Just wish there were a vacation to the beach in that equation!
  • I love chocolate dipped strawberries.  And chocolate dipped bananas.  Actually I got a fruit bouquet once an it was amazing.  I'd like another of those please! ;)
  • Maddox tells us he loves us well over 100 times a day.  It is a daily discussion between Lance and I, wondering if we say it to him in over-drive also and he just mimics us... or he honestly feels that emotions and has to express his feelings?!  He sometimes says, "momma, I love you again."
  • I kind of want an Ipad.  Kind of, because I don't want to spend the money on one.  If they were free, I would definitely want one!
  • I love to laugh.  Until my stomach hurts.  It may be my favorite hobby.
  • I am an open book.  Always.  Take it or leave it.  It is what it is.
  • I hate to be scared.  I don't watch scary movies, I don't do ghost crap, I can't even listen to the music to Law and Order... I hate being scared.
  • Maddox calls the zoo the "zoom" and I never correct him.  He will figure out, soon enough, that he is saying it wrong, and it will be just another one of those baby-ish thing that fades before my eyes.
  • I love the song "I Know You Can Hear Me" by Radney Foster.  Instant tears.
  • And I think the lyrics to Joey + Rory "That's important to me" describe my feelings about life.  (Although I honestly don't care for the song all that much)
  • I hate when people say, "Maddox looks just like you"... it makes me feel awkward because I wish he looked more like Lance, and my first feeling is that they are being mean.  But I also think God works in funny ways by letting me see beauty in things that I always saw ugly about myself, because I think my biscuit is one handsome boy, but I too can see myself all over him.
  • I love the smell of bleach.
  • My boobies are kind of mammoth right now.  I dig.  Give them time, they'll sputter out again.
  • I wish I weren't a worrier, such a planner, a control-freak, and so ridiculously TYPE A.  But I am.
  • My aunt Missy randomly sends me texts (every few months or so) that she is thinking about me or praying for me.  It almost always comes at a time that I need a pat on my back, and I love her for that.
  • Big Train Chocolate Chai is my favorite hot drink.
  • I change my hair a lot.  I have made myself a deal that I will not cut it off until after summer.  And my hairdresser has strict instructions not to listen to me if I tell her I have changed my mind.
  • I like to keep my TV on GAC when I am here during the day, especially when I am cleaning.  Maddox likes Nick Jr.  He trumps me a lot.
  • I have a good husband.  He's a man.... but he's still good!  ;)
  • There are lots of things I'd like to have... but I'm rather content with what I've got.  My cup runneth over.

  1. I love reading your thoughts on blogs like this. You are such a beautiful person, inside and out and your sweet spirit is precious. Your husband, son, and baby to be are very lucky people in this world! Your words bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart.

ps- how do I get a watermark on the photos? Is that a computer thing before I post or something I can do through blogger? :)

  2. LOVE your list.

I love the smell of bleach too! ...and gasoline!

I also prefer an inexpensive bouquet of flowers. I think they are just as good or better as any that are delivered.

Boyd gets funnier every day too! :) Last night my sister said to him to use his indoor voice. He said, my daddy is the boss!

I wish I liked fish too. I just don't. I try to eat it every now and then, but it has to be fried and covered in tartar sauce, so I guess that makes it totally unhealthy. haha.

I have an awesome husband too! I can tell you do as well! :))

  3. Wow. This blog pretty much described me too. I could really copy and paste this into my own blog and just change a few things up:

I do not worry much about what other people think.

I don't make friends easily. For some reason my first impression to people is that I'm snobby. Maybe not so much anymore as I get older...but definitely in school.

I've never been called "hippy" LOL

I think this is our last baby =(

    I love fish!

What is a stamped necklace from Cori Green? Maybe I want one too!

I have tons of stretch marks....boooooo

    Laundry is my Favorite chore!

I have an ipad & I love it, but yes they are crazy expensive and I felt super guilty when purchasing it....but I'm over the guilty feeling and all I feel is love & excitement!

I never change my hair, although I always think about it.

Once again, another great blog by Holly!! Keep 'em coming!

  4. Thank you Aaammmyyy??? (that was me pausing through Amy, wanting to call you Mrs. Jones, but knowing that's not even your name anymore!!) I sent you an email on FB about the watermark... with an example-- I hope it went through.

Nicolle-- GAS!! yes, I love the smell of gas too!!
And I love this age our boys are at... HYSTERICAL!! I hope it just keeps getting better!

Casey-- you made me laugh with the Cori Green comment... it sounded like something I would say!! "I want one!! Wait, what are they?!"
She is a patient of ours who makes AWESOME jewelry (her husband is Pat Green)... I want a charm for each of my boys... you can even get their thumb print on a charm!! *How cool is that?!

  5. What a great post Holly...I really enjoyed reading it!

I'm not techy at all...I still have the old flip phone (no texting)...but I really want an ipad!

I never watch the news either...brings me down...which always leaves me out of the loop too!

I laughed out loud at your healthy groceries on the belt! That happened to me the other day and I was embarrassed by all my junk in my cart, so I started putting all my healthy things on first so the lady would notice them and not the other stuff! So pathetic!

I am with you on the flowers. My husband thinks he has to get me red roses (not my favorite)...he must think this means love! Which also means I don't get them very often (hardly ever!). We have an Amish stand a couple streets over that always have pretty boquets of fresh flowers for a dollar or two...why can't he just get me those?!
