Maddox's 5th birthday party

You know I am always looking for a deal--
or a cheaper way to accomplish a task.

Birthday parties are no exception to that rule--
and this one might have been my cheapest one yet!

I made Maddox's invitations for free with picmonkey...
and cheated and sent them by email rather than snail mail.

I bought the party off of Groupon for $69 (rather than $175) and I downloaded the printables for free here.
(just a hint, however, Staples will not print these since they contain a registered trademark-- so call to make sure they're ready before you send your husband across town to pick them up.)

I ended up printing them on our own home printer the morning of the party-- and used my star hole punch to make more confetti for the tables.

I found the solar powered dancing "ice flowers" party favors at Dollar Tree.
And we did baseball park style nachos and Sams Club cupcakes--
instead of pizza and a fancy cake.

Places like that are always so chaotic...
and I felt like I didn't get to talk to everyone equally--
but I did the best I could,
and I think the kids had fun!

Thanks to everyone who came...
and each and every gift was his absolute "favorite"!

  1. Looks like a fun party! I'm sad we missed it. :( We got Sam's Club cupcakes for Macie's bday this year and I will more than likely stick with those from now on. They're cheap and GOOD! I need to take your lead with the bargain party! That's an excellent deal!!!

  2. Boyd is super bummed that we were not in town, but thank you for thinking of us anyway. It looks like a ton of fun! I'm a bargain hunter too, and I love your ideas here. Sam's cupcakes are the best, we have had them many times. Happy Birthday Maddox!

  4. Looks like a fun party and they are even better when the party is not at your house.
