10 on 10 [May]

Ten pictures in ten hours on the tenth of the month.
Trying to capture the beauty in the everyday moments.

My mom sent me a text last night that she was coming over early in the morning because my sister was using her car and she had errands to run in Fort Worth.

Around 8:00, she showed up with burritos in hand.
She threw (literally) a color on my hair, for me, before we headed out.

On our way to lunch, I spotted a baby calf, stuck in the pond.
We pulled over so I could make for sure that he was lodged in the mud, and once I was sure--
I went on a hunt to find it's owner.
Thankfully, my step dad knows the ranch manager, and he was able to get in touch with them about the calf.

Lunch at Chickfila...
And would you notice...
My baby is eating!!

This revelation actually came by dinner last night, when he grabbed an entire loaf of bread and started gnawing.
A friend/ ex-teacher had sent me a little prayer for him...
and since I have already told you that I cant keep my eyes from pouring lately,
you guessed it!!

I cried.

After lunch, we rand to Sam Moon.
I ran in to Children's Place to exchange a pair of shorts.
Then we went to Hobby Lobby.

That was too much excitement for my big boy.
He was out.
Beckham on the other hand, screeched from the back seat-- exhausted but refusing to toss in the towel.

My mom and I treated ourselves to a pedicure,
and then I was off to work.

Late.

It looks like rain is coming in tonight...
which is fine.

But I have a trip to Ikea tomorrow, with my gal-pal, Candace...
[my first trip to the store ever]
And for my hair's sake, I hope it is gone by then!

10 on 10 :: February

Ten pictures in ten hours on the tenth of the month trying
to capture the beauty in the ordinary moments of the day.

I understand that the purpose of this is to find beauty in piece-of-crap ordinary days... but the fact that they are all out of order, and one will not rotate correctly, can just be an indication of my day.

I swear yesterday was good...  of course I didn't blog it.

And 90% of my days are wonderful.
They really are.

But today Beckham cried all day.

He stayed attached to my leg as I cleaned... and pulled the laptop (Lance's laptop) off the table, breaking the side of it and ruining the power cord.

I called that man that I married a few years back on attack mode, because I felt it was better to beat him to the punch than to face that look that he gives me when I touch anything worth more than a dollar.

Maddox did one of his signature jump moves and slammed his head into the wood floor, thus turning himself into a unicorn and spilling buckets of tears.  He also wrecked every inch of my clean house, but I persevered and cleaned again.
And again.
And again.

I made (and cleaned up) 2 separate breakfasts and 3 separate lunches.
accomplished baths...
and five loads of laundry.
{washed, dried and put away.}

I cooked diner... while on call, and while the 3 men in my life slept.
(during this time, I turned off the tv and listened to silence-- the best part of my day)

I visited with my parents, who dropped by for a few minutes...
Offered advice, encouragement and listened to countless mom's with sick kids.
Re-cleaned.
Watched a little tv.

And now blogged at 1:00am.

Today wasn't beautiful.

But tomorrow will be.
I know it.

And if it isn't... I promise not to blog about it.
I know it is getting old!

I hope your day was wonderful.
Or at least better than mine!

{I am finally off to bed!}

10 on 10 [June]

10 on 10
Take one photo an hour for ten hours on the tenth day of the month and then post the photos on your blog - capture a snapshot of the ordinary beauty of a simple day in your life!

Here goes.

The boys went to bed at 11:30 last night.
Beckham snacked once during the night for maybe 10 minutes...
and then slept until 8:30am.

Snuggle boys.

Breakfast.
Maddox ate all but one piece of my toast.
[Plus his 4.  Really 2, since they are cut in 1/2]
My coffee went cold... and eventually down the sink.
My yogurt and fiber buds were good.
And my date was a ham!

Special delivery!
Lance's 30th gift finally came in.
[better late than never, right?!]

Nap time for Beckham.
[the tummy sleeping would have rocked my world with Maddox...
I only let him do it when he naps so I can supervise.
He sleeps so much better this way.]

Playing with his trucks...
The big ones lined up.
Mator and McQueen in hand.

Lunch for me and Boo.
And then play time in the front yard.
This is where Beckham gets his lunch.
[I thought I'd spare you the boob pic!] ;)

Inside to cool off...
and find birthday invitations on Etsy.
[I am not making them this year.]
One month from today, my baby turns three.

Back outside to fly his Toy Story kite.
Which didn't last long because "it made him nervous."
I completely understand, since I felt the same way about balloons as a child.
A novelty idea, but the fear of it flying away or popping was more than I could handle.
I guess he feels the same way about kites!

Chill'n.
Like a villain.
Happy... in the swing.
I enjoy the rare occurrence.

Dinner by 5:30
[cream cheese and green chili, chicken enchiladas]
and a happy husband home to enjoy them with.
